Airline food

Darcy and I just flew from California to Boston (6 hr flight) during lunch time, and all they served was a tiny snack bag. That's what we've come to expect on domestic flights in the US. We get it. The industry is suffering, and they are trying to keep costs low. It's fine with me, I'd rather save on the ticket and just know I need to plan in advance for meals.

I was shocked at the meals served on my British Airline's flights. Each 6 (or so) hr flight was a constant stream of food, snacks and beverages. The flight attendants must have come by every 15 (maybe 20, but I'm really thinking 15) minutes with water at the very least.

The breakfast they served when I first boarded included:

  • scrambled eggs with herbs
  • large sausage link
  • english bacon
  • hashbrowns
  • roll
  • yogurt
  • fresh fruit
  • breakfast dessert

Can you imagine? We had snacks and several beverage offerings for the next few hours, and then they came by with a sandwich that came with a muffin and a fruit bag.

I couldn't believe it. My trip to Dubai had 2 equally extensive meals. I can't remember the last time I had a meal on a plane, other than in first class, and it was hardly as extensive.

It's funny because Americans are the ones that eat the most, but we provide the least on our planes.

I skipped the second meal on each flight, but I was still full the whole time I was traveling. Imagine that?

Even plentiful amounts if airline food are sadly still airline food

I'm surprised that there was so much food but that's good... obv... especially when you're on such long flights -
